The Keriyans in China

These photos were taken in the Taklimakan Desertin in China, along the ancient Silk Road. In a place called Daliyabuyi in Uyghur language at the lower reaches of Keriya River,there live a group of aboriginal Uyghur people who call themselves Keriyans.
Using the perspective of visual anthropology, this series documents Keriya people's unique cultural traditionand customs, their harsh living environment, peaceful life, plain emotional world and devout religious belief before the relocation, exhibiting their solitary inheritance of tradition and ancient civilization, as well as their love of andnostalgia for their homeland.
